ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Operational Management, Robotics, Computer Science, and/or Computer Engineering or a related field.

Development Engineering

Locations: Moorpark, CA, Pasadena, CA, Longmont, CO and Simsbury, CT

Interns will work within our Product Development teams in support of our Aerospace and Defense customers. Interns will have an opportunity to work with Development Engineers and Technical Leads on internal and external product development programs. Work will include 3D modeling and creation, hardware prototyping, data collection and analysis, test preparations as well as assembly and testing or prototype hardware.

The primary responsibility of this position will be the engineering support of new product development. These positions will report to Engineering Managers.

Qualified candidates will be self-starters who can work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards for quality and documentation is a must in all internship positions. These positions will require the ability to communicate effectively across a variety of departments.

 

Product Engineering

Locations: Moorpark, CA, Longmont,  CO, Simsbury, CT, Graham, KY, and Aurora, MO

Interns will work within our Manufacturing Operations in support of all aspects of product engineering including continuous improvement activities including development of Standard Work packages, lean cell conversion, and statistical process control implementation. Interns will have an opportunity to learn and support standard operating procedures and documentation, manufacturing cell design as well as support new product development and failure investigations.

The primary responsibility of this position will be supporting lean manufacturing practices, value stream mapping, time studies and continuous improvement activities. These positions will report to an Operations or Quality Manager.

Software Robotics

Locations: Brooklyn, NY

Interns will have the opportunity to be part of and learn from the robotics team who is developing robotic perception and control systems and dynamic simulations for a variety of applications spanning space robots to robots for pipe inspection here on Earth. Interns will have an opportunity to debugging and develop fixes for proprietary and open-source robotics software packages. Work will include developing and testing prototype range and vision sensors for robotic platform perception subsystems.

Required experience includes completion of foundational college engineering courses. Qualified candidates will have strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Qualified candidates will have experience with Python development for rapid algorithm development and data analysis, C++ development and ROS.

Package Engineering

Location: Simsbury, CT

Interns will work within our Package Engineering team in support of all aspects of packaging design including implementation of packaging methods, conformance with DOT regulations and customer specifications in support of the successful delivery of products. Work will include updating and creating packaging, labeling and new package design. Interfacing with suppliers and assisting with HAZMAT package testing.

Qualified candidates will be self-starters who can work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards for quality and documentation is a must in all internship positions. These positions will require the ability to communicate effectively across a variety of departments. Experience with hazardous materials packaging is a plus as is familiarity with CAD software.
